Privacy policy

When you register we process your email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), display name and sign-in times. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google. Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Optional profile details (bio, countries, languages, interests, social links, profile photo) are stored in private storage. Your profile is only shown to others if you make it public. Photos are re-encoded in your browser, which removes embedded metadata such as GPS.

Animal locations, feeding reports, messages and photos you submit are linked to your account. Others see your public profile name only if your profile is public and you did not report anonymously. Exact animal coordinates are only shown to paying members; free visitors see an approximate area. We never show private home addresses.

Posts, comments, likes, private messages, group chats and event participation are stored to provide these features. Private messages are only visible to the participants and, for moderation of reported abuse, to authorised administrators.

Location sharing is off by default. If you use "near me" features, your browser location is used locally to centre the map and to search nearby shops; it is not stored. If you opt in to member discovery, only an approximate area (about 1 km) is stored.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive your full card details. We store the payment status, amount, product and date to grant your membership and for statutory accounting. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

We send emails needed for your account (confirmation, password reset, invitations). We do not send newsletters.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Only technically necessary browser storage is used (sign-in session, language). Stripe may set necessary cookies during checkout.

Hosting, database, file storage and authentication: Lovable Cloud (infrastructure provider Supabase). Payments: Stripe. Sign-in: Google (optional). Map tiles: OpenStreetMap. Address lookup: Nominatim (OpenStreetMap). Nearby shops: Overpass API (OpenStreetMap community servers). When the map loads, your IP address is transmitted to these map servers.

Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA (e.g. in the USA). Such transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses where required.

We keep your data while your account exists. After deletion we remove your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (e.g. payment records for statutory accounting periods).

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and to withdraw consent. You can download your data and request deletion of your account on your profile page. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Bulgaria the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP).
